Monkey Mayhem is all about growing – we have been growing our own seeds in nursery, you can see them in the garden on the way in! We put the cotton wool in, added the seeds and water and waited for them to grow. It is very important to remember to water them every day to keep them growing!
The children have really enjoyed this chance to watch something grow from a tiny seed! We are growing strawberries in the garden too so they are waiting patiently for them to turn red!
Choosing simple seeds and plants to grow is a great way to introduce the idea of caring for something beyond themselves. They must remember to water the plants each day or they won’t grow!
Our Monkey Movement award this week is all about cutting! Scissor skills are tricky to get the hang of and it really does take lots of practice! This week we have been working on swirls and cutting in circles!
Well done to all the children who had a go! Keep practicing and you will be expert cutters in no time!
Our Monkey Moment for this week is some photos of our final good bye to our butterflies! It was sad to see them go but we really have had a wonderful time watching them grow and transform from tiny little caterpillars! It was extra special because we got to hold them for a little while before they took off which was fabulous!
Good luck little butterflies!
