This week’s Messy Monkey isn’t terribly messy but it sure is creative! Well done Noah on your Messy Monkey Award!
Noah really enjoys playing office and working hard like his Mummy! Today he chose to add paper to the clip board and do some very serious writing!
It is fabulous to be able to incorporate reading and writing skills into the imaginative play of our children. They learn so much and come up with incredibly creative ways of doing things that we would never think of! Adding simple resources such as clip boards, real pens and tape measures to an activity can really extend the learning of the children, encouraging questions and discovery along the way. Fantastic!
Our Monkey Movement Award this week goes to Lola!
Putting on your socks is a tough task even as a grown up but Lola is doing an excellent job! Her determination to succeed is clear not only with her socks but her shoes as well! Well done Lola we are very proud of you!
Being able to dress yourself, put your shoes and coat on and recognise your name are among the key school ready skills Primary Schools look for when children head off to Reception. It is incredibly important that we encourage the development of these skills in our children so they are prepared for what is to come!
Making friends is such a vital and important part of growing up, developing those skills to talk to people you don’t know, play alongside those with common interests and just generally have fun with someone!
It takes some time but the friendships between the children have truly blossomed here at Monkey Puzzle New Cross! This beautiful picture of our two Monkey Moment Award Winners Leo and Kit enjoying a moment of pure joy in their friendship! Just hanging out in the garden on a sunny day making each other laugh! It doesn’t get more perfectly innocent than that!
Here’s to the new friends we have made already and to all the friends of the future! I wonder what amazing adventures we will go on!
Monkey Mayhem this is week is this fantastic Soap Foam Sensory Play!
Such a simple idea yet it creates a wonderful world of sensory exploration perfect for Babies, Toddlers and Preschool alike!
Why not mix in some water animals or dinosaurs or whatever it is that your child likes most to encourage them to investigate this new sensory experience!
