Take a beautiful building in the heart of SE14, mix in a vision for OUTSTANDING childcare facilities and add a heap of building work and the result is Monkey Puzzle New Cross!
Work is progressing at a fantastic rate with walls coming down, new doors and windows going in and our beautiful Baby, Toddler and Preschool Rooms starting to take shape.
As a doctors surgery our building was made up of lots of individual GP rooms. Those walls have gone revealing 3 bright and spacious rooms, perfect for your little ones to learn and grow in.
The stairs have been enclosed to make them safe for our babies travelling up and down to their room and a beautiful window area has been created at the top to add even more light to an already bright and airy room.
The open plan layout allows the children to access all areas at all time with the inset areas providing a perfect spot for a sensory and sleep area.
In the Toddler room there is a cosy den area for the children to hide away and enjoy quiet time or a sensory experience as well as exploring the rest of the open plan area. We value the outside as much as the inside and the beautiful French doors straight into the garden will allow for free flow play and the extension of learning in every environment.
Preschool also enjoy free flow access to the garden through their wonderful bi-folding doors. There will be an element of bringing the outside in as the garden extends into the classroom and vice versa.
For the staff we have created a cosy staff room – it doesn’t look like much now but it will be wonderful when it is finished!!
Last but not least is our kitchen! With windows out to a potential kitchen garden and space for everything a chef could need to provide delicious home cooked food to your little people!
What more could you need….well of course you need a garden! And what a garden we have in store! With a hand-made slide, low level sand pit and soft surface road designed to save knees and hands from getting hurt it has all the elements needed to be a fantastic space for learning. An investigation area and lots of plants will add the finishing touches to this extended learning environment.
Stay tuned for lots more pictures and updates as the transformation continues!
